Betty Ann Ehrlich

St. Joseph’s Church member was homemaker


- — A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday for Betty Ann Ehrlich of Sharon. She passed away unexpectedly at 8:05 a.m. Monday (11-18-13) in Nugent Convalescent Home in Hermitage. She was 84.

Mrs. Ehrlich was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Verona, Pa., a daughter of George L. and Suzanna Leigh Beardsley Matters.

She attended schools in Pittsburgh and spent her adult life as a homemaker, raising and caring for her family.

Betty was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon.

Her husband, Richard “Dick” W. Ehrlich, whom she married Oct. 3, 1953, preceded her in death Dec. 26, 2011.

Surviving Betty are a daughter, Susan M. and her husband Robert S. Cairns, Chester Gap, Va.; four sons, Richard W. Ehrlich, Sharon; George A. Ehrlich and his wife Mary, Manassas, Va.; Matthew C. Ehrlich and his wife Ada, Sharpsville; and Charles P. Ehrlich, Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren, Geoffrey, Catherine and Colleen Ehrlich; Michael, Mindy and Robert Cairns; and Valerie Hamilton Hudson; and a great-grandchild.

Besides her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George R. Matters.
