VENANGO COUNTY — Terry James Nye of 2864 Georgetown Road, Utica, Pa., passed away at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, in his home. He was 54.

Mr. Nye was born June 15, 1959, in New Castle to James Arthur and Sara Jean Wimer Nye.

A 1977 alumnus of Laurel High School, he was a 1981 graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in structural design and construction engineering technology.

Mr. Nye was employed for 32 years in the District 1 office of PennDOT in Oil City, where he was assistant district engineer.

He attended Reynolds United Methodist Church, Utica.

Terry was a loving husband and father and enjoyed hunting, farming, woodworking and operating his sawmill.

His wife, the former Stephanie J. Miller, whom he married Nov. 21, 1981, survives at home.

Also surviving are his father, New Castle; two daughters, Jennifer Nye and her companion Jerry Gilley, Huntsville, Ala.; and Megan and her husband Bradley Beers, Franklin; and a son, Logan J. Nye, Utica.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a daughter, Sarah Grace Nye.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday (11-23-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Giles Bailey, pastor of Reynolds United Methodist Church, Utica, officiating.

Interment: Mount Hermon Cemetery, New Castle.
