---- — Services will be private for Michael H. Rogers Sr. of Sharon. He passed away at 8:42 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. He was 74.

Mr. Rogers was born April 13, 1939, in Sharon, a son of Harold C. and Helen VanDyke Rogers.

He was a 1960 graduate of Sharon High School.

Mr. Rogers was employed as a roll grinder at the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant and had worked in security for the former Valley View department store in Brookfield.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He is survived by his daughter, Debra Rogers, Sharon; his two sons, Michael H. Rogers Jr. and his wife Kari, Wichita, Kan.; and Mark A. Rogers and his wife Krista, Hermitage; his grandchildren, Katie Rogers, M. Dean Rogers, Ethan and Gavin Rogers; and a great-granddaughter, Lilly Durant. Also surviving are his former wife and caregiver, Darla Rogers; and two sisters, Mary Nichy, Sharon; and Eleanore Gory and her husband Elliott, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jacob Rogers.
