Train hobbyist worked for railroad, on cars


---- — Terry Wayne Goodnight Sr., Sharpsville, passed away at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (4-30-13) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 62.

Mr. Goodnight was born March 20, 1951, in Sharon to Eugene L. and Geraldine (Ewing) Goodnight.

Terry worked on automobiles, painting and doing body work.  He also worked on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad as a brakeman.

He was a member of the Eagles Club in Sharon, enjoyed working on model trains and metal replicas, fishing, hunting and racing cars. He was a Golden Gloves boxer. Christmas was his favorite holiday.

Terry is survived by his daughter, Teri L. Porterfield, Patagonia; three sons, Terry (Jessica) Goodnight Jr., Sharpsville; Randy (LaBrina) Goodnight, New Castle; and Cody Gilmore, Wheatland; two sisters, Tammy L. Sherman, Sharpsville; Jeananne Metzger and her boyfriend Jim Losinger, Sharpsville; a brother, Benny DeMartinis, Florida; 11 grandchildren, Blaine, Braden, Jade, Nathan, Destiny and Avery Goodnight, Tazlynne, James and Tyler Edison, Schuylar Gilmore and Alexandra Francis; five nieces, Gia Hart, Kerry Sherman, Kelly Sherman, Nikki Metzger and Shawna Metzger; a nephew, Chet Sherman; a special aunt, Irene DeBonis; and a special friend, Tootie Macko.

He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene L. Goodnight; his mother, Geraldine Goodnight; his brother, William Goodnight; and a niece, Rachel Goodnight.
