Walker Judson Perrine Jr.

Retiree was Sandy Lake native, Korean War vet


---- — CONNEAUT LAKE – Walker Judson Perrine Jr. of Conneaut Lake passed away at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was 85.

Mr. Perrine was born April 13, 1928, in Sandy Lake, a son of Walker Judson Perrine Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Jacobs Perrine.

He graduated from Cochranton High School in 1947 and served our country with the 110th Infantry, 28th Division in Germany during the Korean conflict.

Walker retired from the former Avtex Fibers after 40 years of service. He also worked as a dispatcher for Laidlaw Transportation, the Conneaut School District.

He was of the Protestant faith.

As a Pittsburgh sports fan, he followed the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing euchre and board games and going bowling.

Walker married Norma Jane Hall on Feb. 7, 1953.

Surviving are his wife, Norma J. Perrine, Conneaut Lake; two daughters, Mary Talbot and her husband Leo, Cochranton; Laurie Kurt and her husband Jeff, Conneaut Lake; and four sons, Mark Perrine, Zelienople; Scott Perrine, Conneaut Lake; Greg Perrine, Sharpsville; and Brad Perrine and his wife Amy, Conneaut Lake.

Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Lacey Kurt and her fiancé Brad, Nikki Kurt, Winston Talbot and his wife Kelley, Mitchell Talbot and his fiancée Megan, Meghan Perrine and her fiancé Nathan Mattern, Christian Perrine, Scotty Perrine and Paige Perrine; and two great-granddaughters, Isabella Talbot and Elizabeth Talbot.

He is also survived by a sister, Virginia Sebek and her husband Gene, Chicago; two cousins, Teri and Carl Dykman, San Antonio; and James Perrine, Pioneer, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Walker in death were a brother, John “Jack” Perrine; a sister, Clorinda Tucker; and his parents, Walker J. Perrine Sr., Agnes Perrine and Mary and Lester Mumford.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Crawford County or the Barco Oncology Institute.

Interment: Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
