Waitress enjoyed bingo, baby-sitting, singing


---- — Loretta E. Thurman of John XXII Home, Hermitage, passed away while surrounded by her family at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 81.

Mrs. Thurman was born Feb. 7, 1932, in Sharon to George  and Mary Hoch Wilcox.

Loretta graduated from Sharon High School.

She was a waitress for many restaurants in the area and in Dallas.

Loretta moved in 1973 to Dallas, where she lived until the late 1980s when she returned to care for her mother.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters, playing bingo, baby-sitting, making friends and singing. She will be sadly missed by her family.

Surviving are: her daughter, Sherry Winger and her companion Joe Fedele, West Middlesex, with whom she made her home and who served as her caregiver; a son, James Fennell and his wife Sabrina, Arkansas; two brothers, Roy Wilcox and his wife Kris; and Ray Wilcox, both Hermitage; her grandchildren, Melissa Stieb; Brandon Stieb and his wife Jolene; and Jordan and Taylor Fennell; and her great-granddaughters, Josie and Aylah Stieb; and Farrah Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Delores Wilcox; and a great-granddaughter, Layla Williams.
