Alice Marie Czesnakowicz

Ex-local woman was hotel cook, member of churches


---- — ORLANDO, Fla. – Alice Marie Czesnakowicz of The Commons Assisted Living in Orlando, a former resident of Hermitage, passed from this life on Sunday, March 24, 2013, after an extended illness. She was 83.

Mrs. Czesnakowicz was born Oct. 22, 1929, in Aliquippa to Joseph and Mary Valecorsa Colonna.

In 1951, she married her husband, Louis “Midge” Czesnakowicz, who preceded her in death March 7, 1973.

She was employed as a line and prep cook at the former Holiday Inn of Sharon in Hermitage.

While residing in the valley, Mrs. Czesnakowicz was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Sharon and later Church of Notre Dame in Hermitage. In Orlando, she belonged to St. Charles Borromeo parish.

Alice enjoyed playing cards with friends, cooking Italian and Polish specialties, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Alice is survived by: three sons, Robert and his wife Nancy, Orlando; Richard and his wife Joyce, Eustis, Fla.; and Joseph and his wife Kathy, Madisonville, Tenn.; a sister, Mina D´Alessandris, Sarasota, Fla.; and six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jullio and Louis Colonna; and sisters, Jean Ruscitti and Lena Susan.
