Elizabeth ‘Betty’ K. Reidman

St. Joe’s member, good cook played bridge, bingo


---- — Elizabeth “Betty” K. Reidman of Hermitage died peacefully at 9:20 a.m. Thursday (6-13-13) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 93.

Mrs. Reidman was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Sharon to Joseph A. and Regina Borsh Baker.

Betty was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Sharon.

She will be remembered as an avid bridge player, someone who loved bingo and, as her friends and family knew, an amazing cook.

Her husband, John D. Reidman, whom she married June 20, 1937, died Nov. 17, 1973.

She is survived by: four daughters, Virginia A. Parker, Niles, Ohio; Carole R. Bennett and her husband John, Gooding, Idaho; Mary Elizabeth McCartney, Hermitage; and Elaine Phillips and her husband Andrew, Manhasset, N.Y.; two brothers, Robert Baker and his wife Josephine, Brookfield; and Elmer Baker, Sharpsville; and eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

Besides her husband, Betty was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Paulitz; and a brother, Charles Baker.

Service: Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday in the church. The family invites those attending the Mass to a reception and luncheon following services in the church social center.

Burial: Cremains in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hermitage, next to her husband, John.
