---- — Hattie L. Hoffman of Fleming Road, Pine Township, died at 9:13 p.m. Friday (6-21-13) in her daughter’s home in Mercer of an extended illness. She was 71.

She was born June 1, 1942, in Volant, to Ralph and Hazel Montgomery Lumley.

She married Basil Lee Hoffman Sr. on Nov. 19, 1960. He passed away on Nov. 27, 2003.

She was a homemaker and private duty certified nursing assistant. She was a caregiver most of her life.

She was of the Methodist faith.

She enjoyed playing bingo and slot machines.

Surviving are four daughters, Cindy Shuffstall and her companion Doug Mikec, Grove City; Dora Miller and her husband Keith, Mercer; Hattie L. Whetzel and her husband Elmer, Grove City; and Pamela Bellomy and her husband Joe, Mercer; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; four sisters, Nellie Stowe and her husband Donald, Harrisville; Sadie “Cookie” Arnold, Grove City; Alice Young, Grove City; and Linda Norden, Rhode Island; two brothers, Elton Lumley and his wife Beth, Grove City; and Thomas Norden and his wife Janice, Rhode Island; and a sister-in-law, Shirley McChesney and her husband Jim, Harrisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Basil L. Hoffman Jr., and infant Gary; two infant great-grandsons; three sisters, Katie Lumley, Joyce “Angel” Metheney and Shirley Mae Dannels; and a brother, Frankie Ralph Lumley.

Calling hours: 3 p.m. to time of service Wednesday (6-26-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Avenue, Grove City.

Service: Memorial service at 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Stephanie Thompson, chaplain of Orchard Manor, Grove City, officiating.

Burial: Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
