He was a 1965 graduate of Farrell High School and attended Youngstown State University and the former University of New York at Buffalo. A fan of the University of Michigan, he traveled to the “Big House” in Ann Arbor, Mich., on many occasions to attend Wolverines football games. His last visit was a memorable game on Sept. 14, 2013, when he went with family members which included his two grandsons.
