Hempfield woman formerly of GC had worked as cook


- — Roberta E. Barber of 347 Hadley Road, Lot 67, Hempfield Township, passed away at 8:25 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, in her residence. She was 74.

Mrs. Barber, formerly of Grove City, was born Oct. 14, 1939, in Sandy Lake to Charles Wilson and Leota Kaltenbaugh Wilson.

She married William G. Barber on April 11, 1981. He died Aug. 1, 1998.

Mrs. Wilson was of the Protestant faith.

She formerly worked as a prep cook at Cyprus Gardens in Florida.

She is survived by her son, Alfred Baca, Greenville; a sister, Joanne (Leslie) Patton, Florida; five brothers, Chuck Wilson, Jackson Center; Jim Wilson, Pawtucket, R.I.; Ed Wilson, Mercer; Gene Wilson, Grove City; and Bruce Wilson, Transfer; three grandchildren, Ashley, Heather, and Allen; and two great-grandchildren, William and Sean.

In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Dennis Wilson; and a great-granddaughter, Tamera.

Calling hours: 11 a.m. to time of service Wednesday (4-23-14) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 144 S. Pitt Street, Mercer.

Service: Funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. William P. Crooks, pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, Mercer, officiating.

Burial: Findley Township Cemetery.
