Richard R. Huff

Peoples Natural Gas retiree served in WWII


- — Richard R. Huff of Pine Township (Grove City) passed away at 6:34 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, in Orchard Manor, Pine Township, after an extended illness. He was 89.

Mr. Huff was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Butler to Frederick F. Huff Sr. and Grace J. Green Huff.

He retired in 1986 from Peoples Natural Gas Co., Grove City.

Mr. Huff served in the Navy during World War II.

Richard attended Stoneboro Presbyterian Church with his family in his later years.

His wife, the former Alberta Boyd. whom he married June 16, 1948, passed away May 1, 1981.  

Surviving are: two daughters, Deborah McComb and her husband Richard, Stoneboro; and Penny Huff, Bel Air, Md.; a grandson, Michael Adams, Grove City; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn R. King and her husband Gene, Grove City.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John R. Huff, who was killed in action during World War II; and Frederick R. Huff Jr.

Calling hours: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday (5-1-14) and 10 a.m. to time of service Friday (5-2-14) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Adam Rodgers, pastor of Stoneboro Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment: With military honors in Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Pine Township.
