Francis “Frank” J. Vagh of Buhl Farm Drive, Hermitage, passed away at 10:12 p.m. Friday (12-6-13) in his residence after a short illness. He was 66.
Mr. Vagh was born Oct. 27, 1947, in Sharon, a son of Frank L. and Antionette F. Yankevich Vagh.
A lifelong area resident, he was a member of Sharon High School’s graduating class of 1966.
A decorated war veteran, Mr. Vagh enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam, having received the Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal before being honorably discharged in 1969.
Frank worked in maintenance for the former Sawhill Tubular division of Armco Inc. in Sharon for 30 years before retiring in 2004.
He was an active member of Church of Notre Dame in Hermitage, where he served as an usher and worked in environment at the church.
Frank belonged to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1338, Sharon; and Slovenian Workingmen’s Educational Club, Sharon.
He was an Eagle Scout and enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything outdoors.
Frank is survived by: a sister, Elaine V. and her husband Deacon W. Jack Tupper, Hartford; a sister-in-law, Judy Vagh, Transfer; a niece, Cynthia York and her husband Phillip, Annandale, Va.; and three nephews, W. Jack Tupper Jr., Naples, Fla.; Eric J. Tupper and his wife Tina, El Paso, Texas; and Jeremy K. Harmison, Transfer.
He also leaves behind a great-niece, Lindsey M. Tupper; three great-nephews, Adam E. Tupper, P. William York and Benjamin D. York; and his beloved cat, Tubey.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David J. Vagh.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Frank’s memory to Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care, 2320 Highland Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.

Service: Memorial Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (12-14-13) in Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage, with the Rev. Jeffrey J. Noble, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Hermitage, with full military honors rendered by the Honor Guard of Veterans of Foreign Wars posts 6233, West Middlesex; and 5286, Farrell; and American Legion Post 432, Wheatland.
