Danny M. Spragg

Mercer man brought joy to all who knew him

---- — Danny M. Spragg, 22 Trees Lane, Mercer, died at 5:24 p.m. Saturday (6-29-13) in Grove City Medical Center. He was 61.

Spragg was born April 12, 1952 to Bernard L. and Lucy Barrett Spragg.

He was a member of the Oakland Avenue United Methodist Church, Sharon.

Danny Spragg brought joy to everyone’s heart who knew him and smiles to everyone who came in touch with him. His warm smile, loving disposition and mischievous way made him the one everyone adored. He was known for the way he carried his wallet, being particular in placing his money so it was sticking out.

Danny loved going to camp in the summer, going bowling and all the activities with the STEPS program, crafts, swimming, ballgames and being with his friends. Overall, Danny loved being with people, especially babies.

Everyone at MCAR will miss Danny, including all those who he had given special nicknames.

At every meal, Danny would fold his hands and pray over his food. This is why we are comforted by this scripture, 2 Corinthians 5:1. “For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down, when we die and leave these bodies, we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven, homes that will be ours forevermore, made for us by God himself, and not by human  hands.”

He was preceded in death by  his parents, a stepbrother, Gerald Rodgers and a stepgrandmother, Lydia Spragg.

Calling hours: 3 to 5 p.m. Friday (7-5-13) at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex.

Service: 11 a.m. Saturday (7-6-13) in the funeral home, with Sr. Pastor Richard N. Carlson, of Oakland Avenue United Methodist Church, Sharon, officiating.
