Masae Morisue

First U.M. church member, 100, retired from Jo-Ann’s


---- — Masae Morisue, Nugent’s Convalescent Home, Hermitage, formerly of Sharon, passed away peacefully at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday (7-3-13) in the home. She was 100.

Mrs. Morisue was born Nov. 1, 1912, in Reno, Nev., to Mojuro and Tomi Saito Shijo.

Mrs. Morisue worked six years for what is now Sharon Regional Health System. She also worked at the former Sharon Store and retired from Jo-Ann Fabrics, Hermitage.

For more than 65 years she was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sharon. Masae was one of the church’s eldest members.

In her spare time she volunteered as a member of Sharon Regional Health System’s Ladies Auxiliary.

Her husband, Jo Morisue, whom she married Sept. 23, 1938, passed away May 2, 1995.

She is survived by her son, Glenn and his wife Mary; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Sean; and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves a stepdaughter, Evelyn, Van Nuys, Calif.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Masae was preceded in death by three brothers, Yoshio, Vincent, and Joseph.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
