2000 Reynolds grad was executive chef in California


---- — SAN DIEGO – A funeral service will be held Thursday for Adam G. Kettering of San Diego, formerly of Greenville. He passed away unexpectedly Saturday morning, July 6, 2013, in Sharp Memorial Hospital, San Diego, after a brief illness. He was 31.

Mr. Kettering was born July 13, 1981, in Youngstown to George E. and Debra R. Ingram Kettering.

He was a 2000 graduate of Reynolds High School and a 2006 alumnus of the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute Le Cordon Bleu, Pittsburgh.

Adam was currently employed as executive chef of the Offshore Tavern, San Diego; and had previously worked as an executive chef in Santa Cruz, Calif.; and in Las Vegas.

He was of the Protestant faith and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Adam enjoyed creating techno dance music and deeply loved his dogs, Kojac and Clara.

Adam is survived by his parents, Greenville; a sister, Katelyn Struthers and her husband Andrew, Jackson Center; his maternal grandmother, Dorothy Ingram, Brookfield; and his only nephew, Jordan Struthers.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Ingram; and his paternal grandparents, Glenn and Dora Kettering.
