A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday for Helen T. Kajma of O’Brien Memorial Health Care Center, Masury, formerly of Florida Street and Cathedral Drive, both Farrell. She died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday (7-7-13) in the center with her daughter at her side. She was 96.
Mrs. Kajma was born Feb. 17, 1917, in Cleveland to Peter and Mary Sikora Glajzer Opalensky.
She attended Brookfield schools. For a time, Mrs. Kajma had worked at the former General Electric Co. in Warren, Ohio.
Helen was a member of St. Adalbert’s Church in Farrell and the parish Rosary Society and Infant Jesus of Prague Guild. She enjoyed helping with the parish perogi project.
On May 10, 1952, she married Raymond A. Kajma Sr., who preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1993.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Debbie Culver, Pacheco, Calif.; two sisters, Margaret Colundjia, Sharon; and Stella Zavada, Brookfield; a brother, Frank Opalensky, Boardman, Ohio; a nephew, Edward Perdian and his wife Kathy, Hermitage; a great-niece, Brenda Davis; and two great-nephews, David and Thomas Perdian.
Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Kajma Jr.; and three sisters, Frances Kresovsky, Julia Sirko and Violet Schiaville.
