Mellon Bank retiree was St. Joseph’s member

- — Marilyn Dresel of Richmond Drive, Sharon, passed away of natural causes at 9 p.m. Friday (1-31-14) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 78.

Born Nov. 20, 1935, in Sharon, Mrs. Dresel was one of three children born to Ralph A. and Elizabeth Leith Sewall.

A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Sharon High School.

Marilyn retired from the former Mellon Bank as a loan officer after a long career in the banking industry.

Her husband of 56 years, Bernie Dresel, whom she married Feb. 1, 1958, survives at home.

She also leaves her two sons, Bernie Dresel Jr. and his wife Julie, North Ridge, Calif.; and Jonathan Dresel and his wife Maggie, Woodland Hills, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Lydia, Josie, Eileen and Colin. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and countless others into whose lives she brought infinite love and sunshine.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ralph E. “Gene” Sewall and James Sewall.
