Rocky Anthony Farmartino Jr.

1972 Kennedy graduate was psychotherapist

---- — A memorial celebration of life service will be held Saturday for Rocky Anthony Farmartino Jr. of Colony Park Place, Stow, Ohio, formerly of Farrell. He passed away unexpectedly and peacefully at 2 a.m. Thursday (4-11-13) in his home. He was 59.

Mr. Farmartino was born Dec. 22, 1953, in Farrell, a son of Rocky Anthony Farmartino Sr. and Ascension “Ti” Campos Farmartino.

He graduated in 1972 from Kennedy Christian, now Kennedy Catholic High School, Hermitage. As an alumnus of the University of Pittsburgh, he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity and earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in social work.

Rocky worked as a psychotherapist in private practice before retiring.

He was a member of St. Eugene’s Catholic Church, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

He was a fiercely loyal Pitt fan, loved all sports and collected various sports memorabilia. Rocky was most happy when he was playing army with his grandsons or overseeing the backyard fun, always ensuring every child was safe and included.

Rocky shared his love of Christ with his soul mate and wife, Jule Mulligan Farmartino; their two daughters, Erin Farnsworth Goetz and her husband Alan; and Jessica Farnsworth Martin and her husband Scott; and six grandchildren, Julia, Liam, Claire, Jude, Avery and Reese.

He is survived by his brother, Mark E. Farmartino and his wife Lorie, Farrell; two sisters, Tina Antonucci and her husband Mark; and Jamie Piccolino and her husband Joseph, all Oakmont; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and three sons from a previous marriage, Alexander, Joseph and Stephen Farmartino.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Louis Farmartino.
