---- — Barbara G. Filer of Coolspring Township passed away at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in her home. She was 75.

Mrs. Filer was born Sept. 5, 1937, in Bethel, Pa., to Enoch and Ella Wright Gilliland.

She attended Love’s Country School in Bethel.

A homemaker, Mrs. Filer was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Greenville.

Barbara enjoyed gardening, farming and animals, especially her dogs.

Her husband, Earl Filer, whom she married Nov. 10, 1959, survives at home.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Ann Filer and her companion Dana Scheppelmann, Meadville; and Shirley Harding, Linesville; two sons, Richard Filer and his wife Darlene; and Mark Filer and his wife Missy, all Coolspring Township; a sister, Jane Hinkson and her husband Carl, Hermitage; and her grandchildren, Amanda, Jacob and Jesse Filer; and Ryan and David Scheppelmann.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Dave, Joe, Ed and Beatty Gilliland.
