R. Dale McCormick

Cochranton man enjoyed bowling, fishing


- — R. Dale McCormick, who resided with his caregivers, Randy and Susan McCartney at 7650 Mallard Road, Cochranton, died at 8:02 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in UPMC Hamot, Erie. He was 58.

Mr. McCormick was born April 8, 1955, in Brownsville, Pa., to Ralph William McCormick and Betty McCombs McCormick.

He attended Jamestown Presbyterian Church.

Dale enjoyed bowling in Crawford County Special Olympics and enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his mother, who resides in Jamestown, he is survived by two sisters, Nancy Cyphert and her husband Ken, Titusville, Fla.; and Linda Volosin and her husband Dave, Jamestown; and two nephews, Eric Cyphert, Vandergrift, Pa.; and Bill Volosin, Jamestown.

He was preceded in death by his father; his paternal grandparents, John and Mary McCormick; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Ida McCombs; and a niece, Wendy Davis.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Crawford County Special Olympics, 222 Chestnut St., Meadville, PA 16335.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday (2-15-14) in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald F. Stanley Jr. of Jamestown Presbyterian Church officiating.
