Lois (Swogger) Bailes

Masury resident worked at Wheatland Tube


- — Lois (Swogger) Bailes, a resident of Masury, passed away Saturday evening (2-15-14) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 70.

She was born in Sharon Aug. 25, 1943, a daughter of George Lee Bochert and Mary Jane (Brown) Bochert.

Lois was employed at Wheatland Tube as a scale master for 29 years.

After retirement she enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lois is survived by five sons, Dennis (Kathy) Swogger, Sharon; Howard (Michelle) Swogger Jr., Sebastian, Fla.; Kevin Swogger, Sebastian; Joseph (Lori) Swogger, Cortland; and James E. Swogger, Masury; three daughters, Vicki DiCristofaro, Wheatland; Dolly (Brian) Webb, West Middlesex; and Regina (Bill) Turner, Orangeville; two brothers, Donald “Whitey” Bochert, Farrell; and Dennis (Barb) Bochert, Seneca Falls, N.Y., and one sister; Lucretta Moore of Farmdale, Ohio. She will also be missed by her 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Howard Swogger Sr., who passed away Aug. 12, 1969; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Boles and JoAnne Mijic; and four brothers, Albert Bochert, Theodore Boltin, Heaverly Bochert and George Bochert.

Calling hours: 2 p.m. to time of service Wednesday (2-19-14) in LANE FAMILY FUNERAL HOME-MADASZ CHAPEL, 6923 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield. Friends and family can visit to send condolences.

Service: Funeral service at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.

Burial: Brookfield Township Cemetery.
