Clarence L. Miller

Ex-valley man worked at Sharon Steel, Westminster


- — FAIRVIEW, Erie County – Clarence L. Miller of Fairview, formerly of the Shenango Valley, passed away peacefully at 11:02 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014, in Fairview Manor. He was 90.

Mr. Miller was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Pulaski to John and Lydia Ellen Zook Miller.

Clarence worked at the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant and later for 25 years as foreman of grounds for Westminster College, New Wilmington.

He was a member of Charleston United Methodist Church.

Clarence enjoyed bird watching, gardening and helping his neighbors and friends. Most importantly, he loved his family.

His wife, the former Marguerite Jane Trapasso, passed away Oct. 16, 2004.

Clarence is survived by his two daughters, Ellen and her husbandDala Barrow 2/17/14  Lou DiPlacido, Erie; and Betty Mansel, Erie; and two sons, George Miller and his wife Carolee, Hawthorne, Nev.; and John Trapasso and his wife Deb, Greensburg, Pa.

He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his beautiful wife, Marguerite Jane Miller, he was preceded in death by his father, John Miller; his mother, Lydia Ellen Miller; his brother, Harold Miller; his sister, Vera Kaufman; and his granddaughter, Darcy Mansel.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday (2-20-14) in Charleston United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Locke officiating.

Interment: Mount Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Township.
