Emanuel E. Hailstock

Farrell High athlete worked for Sharon Steel


---- — Services will be Monday for Emanuel E. Hailstock, formerly of Farrell and Sharon, who died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday (6-12-13) in Autumn Grove Nursing Home, Harrisville. He was 84.

Mr. Hailstock was born May 26, 1929, in Sharon, a son of the Rev. Elesie Hailstock and Clara Durrah Hailstock.

A Farrell High School graduate, he was a standout in football and track, and he enjoyed sports throughout his life

Mr. Hailstock was a longtime employee of the former Sharon Steel Corp., Farrell.

He was of the Baptist faith and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Surviving are: two sons, Avery and Darryl Hailstock, both of New Castle; three grandchildren, Chad and Cody Hailstock of Memphis, Tenn.; and Chace Hailstock of Nashville, Tenn.; and two brothers, Arverdison Hailstock of St. Cloud, Fla.; and Rastapari Hailstock and his wife Marguerite of Farrell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Romason Hailstock; and a sister, Eunice H. Coleman.

Calling hours: 10 to 11 a.m. Monday (6-17-13) in WILBERT L. SHANNON FUNERAL HOME Ltd., 33 Broadway Ave., Wheatland.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday (6-17-13) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Donald Campbell, pastor of Friendship Baptist Church, Farrell, officiating. Full military honors will be provided by New Murray Bell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7597, 314 Idaho St., Farrell.

Burial: Cremation
