Centenarian was oldest member of St. Anthony's

---- — Mass of Christian burial will be Monday for Eugenie Fischer of Sherman Avenue, Sharon. She passed away of natural causes at 7:45 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2012, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 103.

Eugenie was born March 25, 1910, in Rastadt, Ukraine. She was one of eight children born to George and Katherina Ell Bobanko. She was raised and educated in Russia and immigrated to Germany. In 1951 she immigrated to the United States.

A homemaker, she belonged to St. Anthony’s Church, Sharon.

She is survived by three daughters, Katherina and her husband Eugene (Vinco) Petrovich, Sharon; Emily Gangle and Emma Fischer, both Boardman, Ohio; and three sons, Edward Fischer, Sharon; Rudolf Fischer, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and Raphael Fischer, Charlotte, N.C.; and 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fischer, on Jan. 30, 1979; her parents; and six sisters and one brother.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery Chapel Fund and sent to St. Anthony Church 804 Idaho Street, Sharon, PA 16146.

Interment: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hermitage.
