Masury man, GATX retiree liked to bowl, golf, fish


---- — A private service will be held by the family for Ira D. Blair, of 7763 Park Place, Masury, who died at 12:22 p.m. Thursday (6-20-13) in the emergency room of Sharon Regional Health System of natural causes. He was 76.

Ira was born in Brookville, Pa., on Dec. 13, 1936, to Frank and Virginia Metts Blair. They are both deceased.

Ira married Christine L. Voyda on May 23, 1975. She died on March 28, 2006.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Mr. Blair was a graduate of Sigel (Pa.) High School in 1954.

He retired in 1984 from the former General American Transportation Corp, Masury, where he was a welder.

Among Ira’s pastimes were bowling, golf and fishing.

Ira is survived by a son, Kevin Blair, Masury; two stepsons, Brian Schimp and his wife Michelle, Fayetteville, N.C.; and Todd M. Schimp and his wife Laura, Mercer; a brother, Owen Blair, Olean, N.Y.; and four stepgrandchildren.
