Ex-GTI worker of Fairview Township was caregiver

---- — Visitation will be held Thursday for Joyce I. Philson of 127 Coolspring Road, Fairview Township (Mercer). She passed away at 12:40 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2013, in White-Cliff Nursing Home, Hempfield Township. She was 74.

Mrs. Philson was born March 21, 1939, in Dayton, Ohio.

On March 20, 1971, she married James R. Philson.

Until 1990, Joyce was employed by GTI, Hadley, at which time she became the primary caregiver for her husband, James, who had become disabled.

She is remembered by her family as being a loving mother, grandmother and caregiver to their father.

Joyce had attended Coolspring Presbyterian Church, Fairview Township.

In addition to her husband of 42 years, she is survived by four sons, James Roberts, Maryland; Edward Roberts, California; Gary Roberts, Virginia; and J.R. Philson and his wife Melissa, Greenville; a daughter, Vickey Philson, Belleview, Fla.; a brother, Charles Dickson, Washington, D.C.; and 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
