St. Adalbert’s member retired from Packard


- — Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday for Marie Smith-Fisher of 276 Buhl Blvd., Sharon. She passed from this life following a brief illness at 11:27 a.m. Wednesday (4-2-14) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was 75.

Mrs. Smith-Fisher was born Feb. 26, 1939, in Farrell to Stanley F. White Sr. and Josephine M. Sarazen White.

She graduated in 1957 from Farrell High School.

Marie retired with 39 years of service from Delphi Packard Co. in Warren, Ohio, where she was a machine operator.

Marie was a lifetime member of St. Adalbert’s Church in Farrell.

Her favorite pastime was gardening.

On May 16, 1987, she married William “Bill” A. Fisher, who survives at home.

Besides her husband, she is survived by: a daughter, Wendy Anne Fusco and her husband Frank, Hermitage; a son, Kevin Smith and his wife Carolyn, Claysburg, Pa.; a sister, Donna L. White, Mercer; and a brother, Kenneth R. White and his wife Marcia, Avon, Ohio.

Two grandchildren, Nicholl Smith and Anna Marie Fusco, also survive, along with 12 stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Stanley White Jr.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Adalbert’s Church, 1035 Fruit Ave., Farrell, PA 16121.

Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery, Hermitage.
