A funeral service will be held Saturday for Esther Leona Carucci of Avalon Springs, Coolspring Township, formerly of Hermitage. She passed away at 10:27 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. She was 82.
Mrs. Carucci was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Orangeville, Ohio, a daughter of Herbert and Kathryn Curty Victor.
She was a lifelong area resident and attended the former Vernon (Ohio) High School.
An exceptional homemaker, Esther was a member of the Jesus Soul Saving Outreach Ministries and attended Church of Notre Dame, both Hermitage.
Her husband, Dominic Carucci, whom she married July 24, 1950, passed away Dec. 25, 1975.
Surviving are: four daughters, Alana Muffly and Cheri Schuster, both Sharon; Deborah Smith and her husband Michael, Antelope, Calif.; and Tina M. McEwen and her husband Joseph, Mercer; two sons, James Carucci and his wife Laurie, Clark; and Vincent Carucci and his wife Susan, Rosevale, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson.
Besides her husband, Leona was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Barbara Batcher and Maxine Ehrenfeld; and three brothers, Herbert Victor, William Victor and Ronald Victor, who died in infancy.

Leona’s family was her primary concern throughout her life. She cherished the time she shared with them, particularly her grandchildren, and cared deeply for all of them.
