A funeral service will be held Friday for June Marie Carosone of Hermitage. She passed away peacefully of natural causes at 6:35 p.m. Sunday (4-27-14) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 85.
Mrs. Carosone was born June 15, 1928, in Cecil Township, Washington County, a daughter of Henry and Catherine Stewart Kagle.
She was a 1946 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, Canonsburg, Pa.
A homemaker, she belonged to Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage.
Originally from Canonsburg and the hometown of Bobby Vinton, June would reminisce about her early years when she sang with Stan Vinton, who was Bobby Vinton’s father. She loved listening to the sounds of the Big Band era and especially enjoyed watching the Lawrence Welk Show.
Her husband, Beni A. Carosone, whom she married Dec. 4, 1947, passed away May 1, 1999.
She is survived by: three daughters, Carole L. Valentine and her husband Robert; Connie L. Jones and her husband Dan; and Colleene L. Carosone and her partner Brenda Lackey, all West Middlesex; two sons, Benny J. Carosone and his wife Maureen, Mercer; and Brian L. Carosone, Hermitage; two sisters, Freda Myers, Hermitage; and Eileen Hetrick and her husband Jeff, Warren, Ohio; a brother, Donald Kagle and his wife Shirley, Alexandria, Va.; and eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Christine R. Jaco; two sisters, Betty Higgins and Dorothy Ciccione; and three brothers, Henry and William and an infant, Kenneth Kagle.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hickory United Methodist Church, 240 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.
