Mary D. DeJulia

Sharpsville homemaker had strong religious faith


---- — Mary D. DeJulia of Sharpsville passed away at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2013, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, after an extended illness. She was 83.

Mrs. DeJulia was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Sharon to Petro and Maria Rzucidlo Gierchak.

She graduated from Farrell High School.

A homemaker, she married Henry DeJulia, who passed away January 1988.

Mary was very religious and had a strong faith and was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Church, Sharpsville.

She was an avid bingo player.

Mary is survived by her three sons, Henry DeJulia and his wife Esther, Syracuse, Ind.; Peter DeJulia and his wife Mary Beth, Hermitage; and Gary DeJulia, Sharpsville; two grandsons, Patric DeJulia and Benjamin DeJulia; and a great-grandson, Logan DeJulia.

Besides her husband, Henry DeJulia, she was preceded in death by her father, Petro Gierchak; mother, Maria Gierchak; brothers, Joseph Gierchak and Paul Gierchak; sister, Sophie Gierchak; brother, John Gierchak; and sisters, Vicki Waligua and Pauline Shanes.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mary to the funeral home.

Service: Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday (5-17-13) in St. Bartholomew’s Church, Sharpsville, with the Rev. Marc A. Stockton, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
