Brent M. Tompkins

2003 Reynolds graduate was Marine, mechanic


---- — Brent M. Tompkins of 3752 N. Hermitage Road, Transfer, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, May 17, 2013, in his home. He was 28.

Mr. Tompkins was born Aug. 14, 1984, in Greenville, a son of Arthur Louis Tompkins and Margaret “Peggy” Claire Bobbie Tompkins.

He was a 2003 graduate of Reynolds High School and attended Mercer County Career Center.

Brent enlisted with the Marine Corps following high school and, upon his return, attended TDDS Technical Institute, Lake Milton, Ohio, where he was trained as a mechanic.

He was currently employed as a mechanic for Esposito Automotive Group, Grove City, and previously worked for St. Moritz Security Services, Youngstown.

Brent was a former member of the Hermitage and Clark Volunteer Fire departments.

He enjoyed riding motorcycles, bowling, music and spending time with his family, particularly his nieces and nephews.

He will be missed dearly by all who loved him.

Surviving are: his mother, Peggy Tompkins, Transfer; his father, Arthur Tompkins and his wife Sharyn, Hermitage; a sister, Kathleen Marie West, Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, David Anthony Tompkins, Pymatuning Township; and Joseph Simeon, Girard, Ohio; special nieces and nephews, Ernest West, William Tompkins, Sadie Simeon, Chloe Simeon, Nicole Tompkins and Siena Mallin; and his grandparents, Edna Kay Hughes, Reynoldsville, Pa.; Wanda Arlene Tompkins and her companion Bob Swartz, Masury; and Raymond and Harriet Laird, Mercer.

He also leaves several loving aunts and uncles; a stepsister, Cherry Nagy, Mercer; two stepbrothers, Jim Canon and his wife Michele, Sharpsville; and Walter Nagy, Masury; and several close friends.

Brent was preceded in death by his grandfather, Michael Bobbie; and his great-grandparents.
