---- — Violet J. Stainbrook of Hermitage died at 3:15 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2013, from an extended illness in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 85.

Mrs. Stainbrook was born Dec. 12, 1927, in West Middlesex, a daughter of Virgie (Likens) Patton and Perry Patton.

Violet graduated from Hickory High School, Hermitage, in 1945. She was a member of New Virginia United Methodist Church, Hermitage.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bowling and playing cards.

Her husband, Gerald Stainbrook, whom she married April 10, 1948, survives at home.

Also surviving are two daughters, Gail Hall and her husband Rick, Sharon; Sandy Kulka, Transfer; a son, Dennis Stainbrook and his companion Margaret Kerr, Greenville; a sister, Helen Stevenson and her husband the Rev. Jack, Hermitage; six grandchildren, Timothy Stainbrook Sr., Steven Stainbrook, April Redfoot, Rebecca Kulka, Samuel Kulka and Phillip Mohney; and four great-grandchildren, Timothy Stainbrook Jr., Reagan Redfoot, Cole Redfoot and Emma Mohney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter; a infant sister; and a son-in-law, Patrick Kulka.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Evans of Hickory United Methodist Church, Hermitage, officiating.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
