Bernice ‘Necie’ Ricciardi

First Baptist Church member was beautician


---- — Bernice “Necie” Ricciardi, Hermitage, passed away peacefully with family by her side at 5:55 a.m. Saturday (7-27-13) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following an extended illness. She was 83.

A lifelong resident of Hermitage, Bernice owned and operated her own beauty parlor for many years, forming lifelong friendships with many valley residents. This was her greatest passion.

She was also an accomplished seamstress and avid crafter. She enjoyed flower arranging, baking and cooking for her loved ones. A favorite pastime was fishing with her husband Joe, but most important to her was spending time with her family.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Sharon.

Her husband, Joseph A. Ricciardi, whom she married March 9, 1949, passed away Feb. 19, 2012.

She is survived by a son, Ralph Ricciardi and his wife Deborah; three granddaughters, Amanda Ricciardi Hess and her husband Ray; Brandy Ricciardi Larkin and her husband Brendan; and Samantha Ricciardi; and two great grandchildren, Owen and Lilly Hess.

In addition to her husband and parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her infant son, Rodney Ricciardi; four sisters, Ethel Brady, Mildred Metz, Bessie Young and Delores Popa; and four brothers, Wilbur “Red,” Harry, Paul and Clarence “Boots” Bish.

Service: Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church, Sharon, with the Rev. John M. Trojak, senior pastor, officiating. A procession will leave the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday morning for the church.

Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
