WHISPERING PINES, N.C. —
Madeline Anne Scott Turner of Whispering Pines, N.C., formerly of Sharon, passed away at 9:44 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014, in her home. She was 76.
Ms. Turner was born Dec. 5, 1937, in Sharon, a daughter of Harold “Pete” and Helen Rombold Scott.
She was a 1955 graduate of Sharon High School and received her licensed practical nursing degree (LPN) from Sandhills Community College, Pinehurst, N.C.
Ms. Turner retired from the Cardiac Care Unit in October of 2011 after 25 years at Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst, N.C.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon.
Madeline cherished the time she shared with her family and enjoyed traveling and landscaping her home.
Surviving are: three daughters, Nancy M. Dudley and her husband Wade, Hickory, N.C.; and Susan R. McGowan and Barbie A. Turner, both Whispering Pines, N.C.; two sons, Thomas S. McGowan, Dublin, Ohio; and Gregory D. McGowan, St. Paul, Minn.; and five grandchildren, Bobby Rains, Chelsea McGowan, Kaimeisha Dudley, Joshua McGowan and David Dudley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, James and Daniel Scott.

Service: Funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Gary Nelson, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage, officiating.
Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
