Genie L. Claypool

Sandy Lake church deacon was Customfold executive

- — Genie L. Claypool of Sandy Lake passed away Monday evening, July 7, 2014, in Cleveland Clinic due to complications from pulmonary fibrosis. She was 66.

Born July 2, 1948, in Chicago, Mrs. Claypool was a daughter of Frances E. and Tennessee L. Glascock Glowacki.

She was a 1966 graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School, Blue Island, Ill.

Mrs. Claypool worked in investment banking and retail management in Illinois for several years and later was vice president and chief financial officer of Customfold Inc. of Stoneboro for many years.

In Illinois, she had been a member and financial secretary of Chatham United Methodist Church, and also was a member of Hazelcrest Methodist Church, where she served as a youth leader. Mrs. Claypool was, until her death, a member of Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon.

Genie loved to travel with her husband in their motor home and enjoyed spending time on the beach.

She enjoyed being around people and loved to help coordinate and decorate for many activities and functions for Mercer County Shrine Club and Zem Zem Shrine of Erie.

Most of all, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Her husband, Walter “Wally” W. Claypool, whom she married Feb. 13, 1993, survives at home.

Also surviving are: two daughters, Michelle L. Roehm and her husband Harper, Kernersville, N.C.; and Jessica L. Wygant and her husband Timothy, Stoneboro; four sons, David E. Fulton and his wife Rose, Fredonia; Matthew R. Fulton and his wife Inga Kain, Keri Keri, New Zealand; Stephen M. Fulton and his companion Sarah Rosman, Pittsburgh; and Mark T. Claypool and his wife Lisa, Chatham; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Debra Klaric and her husband John, Tinley Park, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Lisa K. Claypool.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday (7-11-14) in SCOTT A. BLACK FUNERAL HOME, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro; and 1 p.m. to time of service Saturday (7-12-14) in Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church, 3461 Sandy Lake-New Lebanon Road.

Service: Funeral service at 2 p.m. Saturday in the church with the Rev. James R. Mohr II, chaplain of Westminster College, New Wilmington, officiating.
