---- — Estelle Jimro, John XXIII Home, Hermitage, formerly of Sharpsville Avenue, Sharon, passed away peacefully at 5:02 a.m. Sunday (4-28-13) in the home of natural causes. She was 97.

Mrs. Jimro was born Nov. 5, 1915, in New York City, a daughter of Alexander and Sophia Musial Popow.

She was a graduate of Sharon High School.

Before her marriage she worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. It was at Westinghouse that she met her husband, Walther Jimro, whom she married Feb. 10, 1948. Walter and Estelle had been married for 51 years at his passing Feb. 11, 1999.

A devout Catholic, she belonged to St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon.

Estelle enjoyed bowling and traveling to her favorite destinations with her husband.

She is survived by two sons, Richard B. Jimro, Sharon; and William C. Jimro and his wife Diane and their daughter Melissa Jimro, all Chandler, Ariz.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Olga Kolomjec, Ann Buynak, Millie Pisula and Katherine Joho; and a brother, Jerry Popow.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to John XXIII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, Pa. 16148
