Earl Wallace ‘Butch’ Douglass

Leesburg church member retired from AT&T

---- — Earl Wallace “Butch” Douglass, Enterprise Road, Pine Township (Grove City), passed away at 4:50 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. He was 71.

Mr. Douglass was born May 18, 1941, in Springfield Township, a son of Kenneth Milton Douglass and Marian Adela (Hittle) Douglass.

Butch graduated from Grove City High School in 1959 and attended Westminster College, New Wilmington.

Mr. Douglass was a veteran of the Army, serving as a Green Beret in Vietnam. He was a member of American Legion Post 852, Harrisville.

Butch retired as chief building operations manager from AT&T in 1989.

He was a member of Leesburg Presbyterian Church.

Butch was an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by two cousins, Madge Adams Minnich and her husband, Calvin, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Roberta Hensel and her husband Gordon, Mercer; and his best friends, Fred and his wife Helen Eshelman, Grove City.

Calling hours: 11 a.m. to time of service Wednesday (5-1-13) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME OF LEESBURG, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant.

Service: Funeral service at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Gomola, pastor of Leesburg Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment: With full military honors in Carpenter’s Cemetery, Springfield Township.
