Dorothy Davis Kearney

Mercer church member was courthouse employee


---- — Dorothy Davis Kearney, North Maple Street, Mercer, died Wednesday (5-1-13) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. She was 90.

Mrs. Kearney was born Nov. 11, 1922, in Springfield Township to William and Mathilda Cocham Davis.

She married Edward Joseph Kearney on Oct. 21, 1950. He passed away Feb. 12, 2012.

Dorothy was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church in Mercer.   

She worked at the Mercer County Courthouse in the voter registration office, retiring in the late 1980s.

Dorothy enjoyed knitting, working outside in the garden, traveling with her husband on bus tours and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Ann and her husband Patrick M. Forese, Grove City; two grandchildren, Derek E. Forese, Palm Desert, Calif.; and Carly A. Forese, Grove City; and two nieces, Lorene and husband Jack Peters, Mercer; and Shirley Paxton and her husband Norm, Lakeland, Fla.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Russell Barney Davis; and a sister Twila Fisher.

Calling hours: 10 a.m. to time of service Saturday (5-4-13) in in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant.

Service: Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. August Hurst, pastor of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment: Carpenter Cemtery, Springfield Township.
