Stella Rzicznek

Good Shepherd church member was homemaker


---- — Stella Rzicznek of 1200 Pulaski-Mercer Road, New Wilmington, passed away Saturday afternoon (5-4-13) with her family at her side. She was 92.

Mrs. Rzicznek was born Nov. 24, 1920, in New Castle, a daughter of Henry and Agnes Korzec Smolkowicz.

Stella was married to Jack Rzicznek, who preceded her in death on Aug. 22, 1977. They were married for 37 years.

Stella was of the Roman Catholic faith and a member of Church of the Good Shepherd in West Middlesex. She was a former member of Saints Philip and James Church.

Mrs. Rzicznek greatest joy was being a homemaker for her husband and family.

She enjoyed cooking, bowling and doing crossword puzzles.

She was a member of AARP, New Wilmington Chapter.

Stella is survived by a daughter, Jane A. (William) McFarland, New Wilmington; and a son, John S. Rzicznek, also New Wilmington; a sister, Anne (Tony) Lubus, Milwaukee; two grandchildren, Brian (Tina) McFarland and Carol (David) Aiken, both New Wilmington; and five great-grandchildren, Jared McFarland, Sara McFarland, Rachelle Watson, Brittany Jorgensen and Lena Aiken.

In addition to her husband, Jack, Stella was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, David A. McFarland Sr.; a great-grandson, David A. McFarland Jr.; and five brothers, John, Frank, Joseph, Louis and Raymond Smolkowicz.
