Ex-Sharon woman was state government retiree


---- — KENT, Ohio -- Mary Ann Strobl of Kent, formerly of Sharon, passed away at 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013, in Kent Ridge. She was 88.

Mrs. Strobl was born June 21, 1924, in Sharon.

Mary Ann graduated in 1943 from Sharon High School.

She retired in February 1985 after 23 years of service with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with the last seven years as an unemployment claims supervisor.

Mary Ann was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon.

She survived by two sons, Bert F. Strobl Jr., Warren, Ohio; and Lawrence D. Strobl and his wife Jennifer J., Tallmadge, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jeremy, Kelle, Chad, Andrew and Nathan; a brother, Robert M. Horvath, Masury; and a sister, Anne Bobish, Pulaski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary K. Golias Horvath; her husband, Bert F. Strobl Sr.; her brothers, Michael, Joseph and John E. Horvath; and her sister, Helen Boron.

Service: Private Mass will be held at St. Bartholomew’s Church, Sharpsville.

Interment: Private at St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
