Mary Varricchio

Knott’s Interiors retiree liked to dance, play cards

---- — Mary Varricchio of Hermitage passed away peacefully at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, after an extended illness. She was 85.

Mrs. Varricchio was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Farrell, a daughter of Carlo and Micolina DiPreta Buzzeo.

Mary was a 1945 graduate of Farrell High School.

Mrs. Varricchio enjoyed dancing and playing cards. Earlier in life, she and her husband were members of a couples’ card club.

Mary was an eloquent woman with an eye for fashion.

She loved and cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her life and affectionately called her Nana.

Her loving husband of 59 years, Albert J. Varricchio, whom she married Sept. 29, 1951, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, by Monsignor Geno Monti, who is now deceased, passed away Oct. 3, 2010.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Boles and her husband Danny, Hermitage; and Cheryl Sudzina and her husband Dave, Greenville, N.C.; four grandchildren, Danielle Wilson and her husband Doug, Reynolds; Duane Boles and his wife Shannon, Pittsburgh; David Albert Sudzina, Greenville, N.C.; and Angela Marie Sudzina, Wilmington, N.C.; and three precious great-grandchildren, Ryan Wilson; and Ryder and Harper Boles.

She also leaves three brothers, Dan Buzzeo, Sharon; and Mike Buzzeo and his wife Eva; and Pat Buzzeo, all Hermitage.

In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Ann Fanone, and an infant sister, Maria Buzzeo; and two brothers, Joe and Bill Buzzeo.
