Mary Marie Bush

Active Grange member was singer, songwriter


- — Mary Marie Bush, formerly of Clay Furnace Road, Clark, passed away at 4 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29, 2013, in St. Paul’s, West Salem Township, after an extended illness. She was 87.

Mrs. Buh was born Oct. 25, 1926, in Knox Dale, Pa., to Joshua Wayne and Esther Dickey Sebring.

Mary was a member of Stony Point Grange 1694 and the Pennsylvania State Grange and was a board member of Mercer County Grange Fair.

She was extensively involved with Boy Scouts Pack 59.

Mary enjoyed crocheting, sewing, games and puzzles. She was a singer and songwriter and enjoyed bird feeding and gardening. Mary loved her pets.

She leaves her husband, William Henry Bush, whom she married Dec. 30, 1950.

Also surviving are: two sons, John M. Bush and his wife Laurie, Clark; and Andrew W. Bush, Sharpsville; two daughters, Karen S. Hoskinson and her husband John, Harmony, Pa.; and Amy K. Lytle and her companion Jerome Arkward, Greenville; four sisters, Gerry Miller and her husband David, Brookville; Doris Pearce and her husband James, Mantua, Ohio; Margie Flick and her husband Douglas, Florida; and Virginia Bogacki, St. Marys, Pa.; six grandchildren, Theresa Kramer and her husband Clay, Zelienople; Thomas Bush, Clark; Joshua Bush and his fiancée Heather McLain, Transfer; Jenna Bush, Sharpsville; John Hoskinson Jr., and his wife Becky, Akron; and Judith Boyer and her husband Don, Girard, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Albert W. Sebring; and her sister, Emma June Bush.

Service: Funeral with committal prayers at 11 a.m. Monday (12-2-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. William G. Kirker, director of spiritual services at St. Paul’s, West Salem Township, officiating.

Interment: At a later date in St. John’s Reformed Church Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
