Cathy passed away at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, following a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She was 75.
Known throughout her life by her family as “Babe” and her friends as “Cathy,” she was born the third of four daughters in Allegheny County, Pa., on July 22, 1938, to Patrick and Elizabeth Bird Ross.
Cathy and her sisters lost their parents at a young age and were raised by Lawrence and Eugenia Fusco in Wilkinsburg, Pa. She was a 1956 graduate of Wilkinsburg High School.
She has been a Grove City resident since 1967 where she was a homemaker and was employed by Wendell August Forge starting in 1974. She retired as an executive administrative assistant.
During retirement, she stayed active with Wendell August Forge as a historical consultant for the company, and was recently honored on Oct. 26 as the company named its history center the “Catherine E. Youngo History Center.”
Cathy was a parishioner of The Church of The Beloved Disciple. She was active in the Grove City community as a member of the board of directors of the Grove City Chamber of Commerce, the Grove City Historical Society and the Children’s Aid Society of Mercer County.
Cathy was a loving mother and grandmother. She was grateful for her family and strong friendships. Her family wishes to extend their thanks to those who have helped and supported her throughout her journey.
Survivors include, three sons, Leonard J. “Len” Youngo and his wife Beth, Grove City; Joseph E. “Joe” Youngo and his wife Lauren, Cumming, Ga.; and Christopher P. “Chris” Youngo and his wife Kelly, Salisbury, N.C.; six grandchildren, Andrea, Michael, Heather, Joey, Kyle and Kaitlyn Youngo; two sisters, Patricia Mulcahy, N.H.; and Roberta “Bobbie” Smith and her husband Ray, Turtle Creek, Pa.; two brothers, Joe Fusco and his wife Gail, New Wilmington; and Larry Fusco and his wife Mary Ann, Greensburg; and her former husband Joseph Youngo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Gertrude “Pepi” Meixner; and two brothers, Frank and Benjamin Fusco.
Memorials may be made to any organization of the donor’s choice that feed the needy, especially children.

Mass of Christian burial: 11 a.m. Monday (12-2-13) in Church of The Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center St. Ext., Grove City, with the Rev. Michael Allison as celebrant.
