Retiree worked at Packard, was NASCAR fan


---- — Mary L. McFarland, Brookfield, died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday (9-21-13) in Hospice of The Valley, Poland, Ohio, following an extended illness. She was 70.

She was born April 6, 1943, in Sharon to Theodore and Anna Negrea Bradian.

She was a 1961 graduate of Sharon High School.

Mary worked at Packard Electric doing various jobs, and retired as an inspector. She worked for more than 30 years, retiring in 1995.

She enjoyed NASCAR, traveling with her husband, working at the BMX race track, golfing and riding motorcycles.

She is survived by: her husband, William McFarland, whom she married March 2, 1963, at home; and two sisters, Joann Burns of Bradenton, Fla., and Gloria Riebe and her husband Jim, Niles, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Anna Mae; and three brothers, Ted, Jack and Bean Bradian.

Service: At Mary’s request there will be no funeral.

Burial: Cremation in the funeral home crematory followed by inurnment at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
