- — A funeral celebration of life service will be held Friday for  Theodore Odem Sr. of Farrell. He departed this life at 2:34 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 62.

Mr. Odem, known to his family and friends as “Skeeter,” was born Sept. 4, 1951, in Goodwater, Ala., a son of Ed and Veola Holloway Odem.

He relocated to the Shenango Valley many years ago and was a graduate of Sharon High School.

Mr. Odem was formerly employed at the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant and Gilko Paving Co., Hermitage.

He enjoyed fishing, cooking and working on cars. His warm and caring spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Theodore leaves to cherish his memory: his loving children, Tina Odem-Willis and her husband Michael, St. Augustine, Fla.; Telesa Odem and Rochelle Odem, both Sharon; Yolanda Kitt, Farrell; Kimberly Ford, with whom he made his home; and LaQuandra Denson and Theodore Odem Jr., both Jacksonville, Fla.; his brothers, Fred L. Odem, Farrell; Samuel D. Odem; and Ed Odem Jr. and his wife Rita, all Sharon; and Billy W. Odem and his wife Mary, Farrell; his sisters, Gloria Cooper, Cleveland; Elnora Laney, Farrell; and Martha Higgins, Sharon; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
