James “Jim” P. McAlister, Niles, Ohio, passed away at 4:35 a.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, in his home surrounded by his family, after battling leukemia. He was 40.
Jim was born Oct. 28, 1972, in Warren, a son of Stephen D. and Regina Woofter McAlister, Fowler.
He was a 1991 Matthews High School graduate and also graduated with a bachelor of sciense in accounting from DeVry Institute in Columbus, Ohio.
Mr. McAlister worked at Packard Thomas in the Warren and Youngstown areas as a certified public accountant. He also worked for the last 10 years for First National Bank of Pennsylvania as an internal auditor.
He is survived by his parents; his wife, the former Deena M. Diamond, whom he married Oct. 24, 2009; his mother-in-law, Lillian Diamond, Hubbard; two sons, Nicholas and Jacob McAlister, both Howland; two stepchildren, Kaitlin Chaney and her boyfriend Michael Slater; and Tyler Chaney, all Niles; a sister, Roxanne McAlister, Hartford; a niece and nephew, Haley Smith and Jeffrey Smith, both Hartford; and many special friends.
His father-in-law, James Diamond, preceded him in death.
