DUNCAN, S.C. – Pearle S. Perrine, formerly of Rexford Drive, Hermitage, passed away of natural causes at 3 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, her husband’s birthday, in Duncan. She was 89.
Mrs. Perrine was born Aug. 28, 1923, in St. Petersburg, Pa., a daughter of Robert Lawson and Hannah S. Shuler Woolcutt.
She attended Wesley schools near Barkeyville.
A homemaker, she attended the former Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Hermitage.
Pearle was a member of the Maenerchor Club and its auxiliary in Sharon, where she participated in its Singer Club and the 500 card club.
She and her husband were avid bowlers throughout the years and belonged to several leagues at Thornton Hall, Hickory, Reynolds and Sharpsville bowling lanes.
Pearle was an avid bunco player and was very active in the Spartanburg (S.C.) Newcomers Club.
Her husband, William J. “Bill” Perrine, whom she married August 10, 1956, passed away October 4, 2005.
Surviving are: two daughters, Sandra M. Spanitz and her husband Stephen, Duncan; and Candace S. Fisher, Masury; two sons, Edwin P. Mars Jr. and his wife Peggy, Greensburg, Pa.; and Robert A. Perrine, Dover, Del.; two sisters, Grayce McCarl and Jean Frantz, both Grove City; and 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Pearle was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David M. Mars; a great-grandson, Spencer Sas; a grandson, Richard “Ricky” Richardson Jr.; a sister, Dorothy M. Sankey; and two brothers, William Woolcutt and Robert L. Woolcutt.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Daughters of the King in care of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 101 St. Matthew’s Lane, Spartanburg, SC 29301-1378.
