Albert ‘Ray’ Hajduk

Born in Germany, ex-valley man retired from Delphi


---- — SEBASTIAN, Fla. – Albert “Ray” Hajduk of Sebastian, formerly of the Shenango Valley and Niles, Ohio, passed away at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, in the home of his daughter, with his daughter and son-in-law holding his hand. He was 66.

Mr. Hajduk was born March 28, 1947, in Germany to Rene LaSage of France, and Karola Semiankiw.

He retired from Delphi Packard Electric Systems, Warren, Ohio.

As a Vietnam veteran, Ray served in the Navy and was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 299, Sharon; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286, Farrell.

He also belonged to Sebastian Italian American Club.

In his youth, he loved fishing. A sports enthusiast, Ray enjoyed following Cleveland sports and going to Cleveland Indians games.

Surviving are: his mother, Karola Semiankiw, Sharon; his children, Michelle and her husband Howard Swogger, Sebastian, Fla.; and Albert “Ray” Hajduk Jr. and his wife Toya, Farrell; two grandchildren, Kayla Mehler, Sharpsville; and Dillon Hajduk, Farrell; a brother, John Semiankiw, Shenango Township; and a sister, Lilly Santell, Sharon.

There will be no services as requested by Ray. His wishes were to be cremated and scattered at sea.
