VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. —
Shirley M. Taylor, formerly of Sharon, passed away at 10:07 a.m. Wednesday (7-31-13) in her Virginia Beach residence with her family by her side. She was 84.
Mrs. Taylor was born July 27, 1929, in Sharon, a daughter of Frank and Agnes Schaffer Bailey.
She was raised in Sharon and was a graduate of Sharon High School.
Shirley retired after 25 years on the assembly line for Packard Electric, Warren, Ohio.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. Sharon. Earlier in life, Shirley served as a Democratic Committeeperson, and was involved in the Ladies of Charity at St. Stanislaus Church, Sharon. Mrs. Taylor was very active in her children’s various activities. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are: her husband, John Paul Taylor, whom she married Feb. 3, 1951; two daughters, Kathleen A. Mitchell, Pikesville, Md.; and Karen Davis, Virginia Beach; and three grandchildren, Brian Paul Davis, Melanie Bliss Mitchell and Kelly Roxanne Davis.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, John P. Taylor Jr.; a daughter, Sherry Lynn Ciccia; three sisters, Margaret Steines, Mabel McAdam and Louise Bailey; and two brothers, Paul and Raymond Bailey.
